Beneath The Sky~CD Release Party~Mad Hatter!
Newly signed onto indie label, Victory Records, local Cincy band, BENEATH THE SKY, held their CD RELEASE PARTY "What Demons Do To Saints" on Friday, January 26, 2007 at The Mad Hatter in Covington Kentucky to a sold~out crowd. The show was an all~ages show so there was a mix of fans for the night. Opening the show was Corpus Christi then the return of KILL THE MESSENGER then Black Tie Affair then Foxy Shazam then BENEATH THE SKY hit the stage and ending the night was PAIN LINK. You can find all the bands on myspace for more info about tour dates, etc. The opening bands provided a build up of energy for when BENEATH THE SKY took to the stage. BENEATH THE SKY has polished their act in the short time they've been together. They did all the right things and advice in leading up to the signing onto Victory Records label. I say they deserved the record deal. They have released their first single "7861" and a video for it which is displayed thru a laptop computer at their merch table. The fans just go absolutely nutz over this song even tho it's a very personal song to the band about a close friend lost to suicide. At the end of the video, which is very well done, they have put info about suicide prevention hotline which is a great public service announcement and a way to reach the youth of today. Singer Joey Nelson sings and growls with such a passion and heart that it shows in his performances. Backup vocals from the bassist is equally impressive. The dueling guitars feed off each other complimentary, the keyguitar (keyboards that is a guitar style) add a unique flavour to this style of metal music and the solidness of the drummer is amazing to watch! A big THANK YOU to the Mad Hatter and staff and to HM Booking/Promotions for another successful show!! Look for the return of BENEATH THE SKY to the Mad Hatter in Covington Ky on March 15th!
