I started to write this with excitment about a local unsigned band called ROOTBOUND. But after waiting several days requsting a crucial piece of info from them with still no response (yes I have proof they did read the email sent to them) I have decided not to elaborate too much on this band. I was never formally introduced to the members of this band. I had seen ROOTBOUND about a year ago or so and was not impressed at all. In fact, I avoided them. But within the past year, ROOTBOUND has made some major changes and more on the way. They have their own grammy award winning sound engineer/manager ("E.L." of 3 Brothers Productions: www.myspace.com/3brospro)which gives them their consistant sound at any venue which is one of the keys to getting the national attention. Next, they hired a new lead vocalist just for this one particular show who was just great to watch and hear sing. This guy can SING! His vocals are strong and solid and has range. Unfortunately, I was never told his name. They still have not listed their singer's name on their website(s) that I could find so the search must still be on for the right lead vocalist. Whoever he is who performed with ROOTBOUND at Annie's, he is simply an amazing rocker on the mic! The rest of ROOTBOUND have been together for about 7 years with Josh Knechtly on guitar, Kevin Colwell on bass and Allen Grooms on drums as listed members. ROOTBOUND is nothing but sheer rock music and want to be known as a true "band for the people" according to their bio which can be found at www.myspace.com/rootboundmusic which lists their only next play date of July 16, 2008 at the Adams County Fair in West Union Ohio. In the meantime, ROOTBOUND is currently writing new material and recording it all for their next cd. I will honestly say they had fans both new and regulars (known as "ROOTHEADS")rooting them on as they performed at Annie's on March 15 to warm up the venue for Jackyl.
